The 2026 USA Hockey-Long Drink Warrior National Championships will be held April 23-26 at the Children's Health StarCenters in McKinney and Farmers Branch in Dallas, TX. USA Hockey’s Warrior Hockey Discipline is dedicated to injured and disabled U.S. military veterans who have served our country and play the sport of ice hockey. As one of the Disabled Hockey Section's newest disciplines, Warrior Hockey is quickly growing across the country. While some of the participants played hockey prior to being injured, many try it for the first time for therapeutic reasons. To be eligible to compete in the Warrior Hockey Discipline, participants must have a discharge under honorable conditions with the ability to provide official documentation from their designated branch of service. Impact of Warrior Hockey on Veterans. The purpose of Warrior hockey is to provide a space for disabled veterans to heal through hockey. Warrior hockey has provided services and opportunities for over 600 veterans since it’s inception. It provides a physical outlet for exercise, a team members can be a part of, and the opportunity for team competition. Most of all, it provides the closeness and camaraderie that our veterans often miss the most about serving.

Transitioning to civilian life after military service is often challenging to our Veterans and their family members. The players and families of the Philadelphia Warriors hockey club find belonging to the program brings comfort and valuable resources during this transitional phase of life.


Participants of the USA Hockey-affiliated Warrior hockey program are Veterans with a minimum of a 10 percent VA-rated disability. The Philadelphia Warriors Hockey Program continues to grow to be a positive and life-altering experience for its players and family members.

Mission

The Flyers Warriors program’s mission is to organize and administer an ice hockey program that provides a recreational and therapeutic experience to its members and their families. It also provides or assists with access to needed services and education. to participants, families and volunteers.

Vision

The Flyers Warriors exist for the benefit of wounded, injured or otherwise disabled veterans of every U.S. military branch in conjunction with USA Hockey’s Warrior Hockey program. Our long-range vision is to continue to expand our membership base and our service component along with ensuring the ongoing success of our hockey teams.

The Flyers Warriors strive to provide a consistently supportive and beneficial environment — both on and off the ice — for our participating players and their families. We aim to improve their quality of life and to simultaneously promote integration and service to the local community.
